Vision Statement
The Youth Ministry seeks to become the training ground where the young people within our reach at Praise Center can reach their full potential, both spiritually and physically, and make positive contributions to the body of Christ.

Activities

  • Sunshine Band (ages 12-under)
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16

Mission: To reach out to our children and offer an opportunity for them to receive salvation in their productive years. Through meaningful and wholesome activities such as music, Bible study, drama, arts and crafts, field trips, and special worship services, our children can be instructed in the principles of Godly living.

  • Purity Class (ages 13-17)
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13

Mission: To build on the foundation of holiness that sets a standard for good, moral behavior that will enhance the development of youth leaders and future leaders in the church.

  • Spirit of Excellence Groups (ages 13-21)
“Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Mission: To stimulate and promote growth in areas of self-discipline, self-assurance, and leadership. We will lay the foundation to build the confidence needed in our youth to take family, church, school, community, and city to heights unknown.

    • Young Women of Excellence
Excellence is defined as, “the quality of being outstanding,” and that is exactly what this award was created to celebrate: a young woman who stands out.

The Young Woman of Excellence understands the necessity for standing out in a world that tries desperately to convince her to compromise. She stands for righteousness in a society where immorality is the norm; and she stands strong in her faith in a time when many no longer believe.

The Young Woman of Excellence understands that true, godly beauty extends far beyond her reflection in the mirror. She strives to develop a gentle, godly character and holds the truths of God close to her heart.

She is a young woman of integrity.   She holds herself to the highest standards, and inspires those around her to do the same.  She refuses to settle for mediocrity – and she chooses to wait for God’s best.  She learns, she dreams, she strives, she achieves… and she knows with certainty that all she desires to gain in life will not come, “by power nor by might, but [only] by My Spirit, says the Lord.”

    • Young Men of Valor
A Young Man of Valor is a rarity in today’s world.  He is one who has managed to avoid the often-selfish trappings and snares of laziness, apathy, fast money, and the “everybody-owes-me-something” mentality. He understands the necessity and benefit of a good work ethic and knows that a good education goes a long way.

A Young man of Valor is not ashamed of loving Jesus – and he is well aware of where his help comes from. The Young Man of Valor walks in nobility, strength of heart, and courage of conviction. He treats people with respect and realizes there is no weakness in showing kindness… for even Jesus himself was a Gentleman.
