I love visiting amusement parks, especially for the thrill of roller coasters. No matter how many times I ride the same one, the experience always feels different. So many variables can influence it – my age, size, the time of day, the weather, who I’m riding with, or whether I remember what twist or drop comes next. Each ride feels like a new adventure.
In many ways, our journey to Pentecost is similar. Pentecost Sunday comes at the same time each year – 50 days after Resurrection Sunday – but each year, the journey can (and should) feel different. Why? Because we’re constantly growing: in age, in faith, in our understanding of Christ, in our life experiences, and in our spiritual expectations.
As we enter these next 21 days of fasting and reflection leading to Pentecost, my prayer is that you would encounter the Holy Spirit in a fresh, powerful way. May your eyes be opened, your heart stirred, and your spirit awakened to something deeper and more transformative than ever before. Let’s invite God to do something new in us as we journey together. Daily Devotionals will be posted at 8am to encourage, strenthen and empower you on this Pilgrimage To Pentecost.
